The Ram 1500 has earned its spot in the tightly contested full-size pickup segment due to its capability, technology, and comfort. As with every new year, we see changes. Mostly, these changes are evolutionary, but sometimes we see revolutionary new features. This article delves into the differences between the 2024 Ram 1500 and the latest 2025 model year. 2024 Ram 1500 vs 2025 Ram 1500: Trim Levels and Pricing
The 2024 and 2025 Ram 1500 lineup includes eight trims.
2024 Ram 1500 Trim | MSRP | 2025 Ram 1500 Trim | MSRP |
Ram 1500 Tradesman | $39,420 | Ram 1500 Tradesman | $40,275 |
Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE | $41,060 | Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE | $41,060 |
Ram 1500 Bighorn | $44,830 | Ram 1500 Bighorn | $45,180 |
Ram 1500 Laramie | $54,880 | Ram 1500 Laramie | $60,325 |
Ram 1500 Rebel | $59,595 | Ram 1500 Rebel | $64,490 |
Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn | $62,190 | Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn | $76,445 |
Ram 1500 Limited | $66,055 | Ram 1500 Limited | $79,945 |
Ram 1500 TRX | $96,585 | Ram 1500 Tungsten | $87,320 |
As you can see, the lineup from the Tradesman up to the Limited remains the same. We see minimal price increases in the lower trims. However, the premium Limited and Limited Longhorn models have more significant price jumps because of additional equipment. Perhaps the most significant change would be to delete the TRX trim and create a new Tungsten model.
2024 Ram 1500 vs 2025 Ram 1500: Powertrain
Ram uses its 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with eTorque as the standard engine in its 2024 models from the Tradesman up to the Limited Longhorn. This engine uses mild hybrid technology to produce 305 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. As a result, Ram 1500 trucks with this powertrain can tow up to 7,730 pounds and get a best-in-class hybrid payload of 2,300 pounds.
If you want additional power in a 2024 Ram 1500 truck, you can opt for the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with eTorque. This engine produces 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Ram 1500 trucks with this engine can tow up to 12,750 pounds when properly equipped.
The Ram 1500 TRX has a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 monster that ranks as the most powerful factory-installed engine in its class. The TRX HEMI V-8 makes an impressive 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. That's enough power to rocket to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 118 mph.
For 2025, Ram offers three engines. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with eTorque still comes standard on most trims and produces similar power numbers: 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain can tow up to 8,100 pounds thanks to a few construction improvements.
Ram doesn't offer the HEMI V-8 engine in regular or supercharged variants. Since the supercharged TRX has gone the way of the dinosaurs, if you want that legendary power, run out and get a 2024 TRX before they're gone.
Now, Ram has two new engines available. An available Hurricane 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine Ram called SST or Straight Six Turbo offers more power. This engine rates at 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque, enabling up to 11,560 pounds of towing. You also have an optional Hurricane High-Output 3.0-liter SST engine with 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. Depending on the equipment, Ram trucks with this engine can tow up to 10,740 pounds.
2024 Ram 1500 vs 2025 Ram 1500: Technology
The 2024 Ram 1500 has an impressive technology suite that starts with a customizable 12-inch digital information cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, gauge summary, and vehicle dynamics. Plus, it uses a 12-inch center stack touchscreen powered by the Uconnect 5 NAV system to operate your infotainment. This system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and smart navigation. You can create up to five driver profiles, view tow-specific navigation, and access the Ram-Connect safety and security features.
As impressive as the 2024 Ram 1500 technology features are, the 2025 model offers significant upgrades. An available largest-in-class 14.5-inch touchscreen offers remarkable capability. You can view navigation, select your entertainment, and use its split-screen feature to run two apps simultaneously from multiple smartphones. And the new dual wireless charging pads keep your smartphones charged as you go.
Ram didn't stop there. They added a class-exclusive 10.25-inch touchscreen for the front passenger to use. This interactive display provides entertainment and information to your copilot, allowing them to stream their favorite shows, play music, or find destinations along the way. This additional display gives the Ram 1500 more available touchscreen space than any truck in its class.
You can use the Ram Connect app on 2024 and 2025 Ram models. However, the 2025 Ram 1500 adds a digital key feature, using your smartphone in place of your key fob. You can unlock and start your truck without taking your smartphone from your pocket.
2024 Ram 1500 vs 2025 Ram 1500: Premium Luxury
There's a trim level to suit any lifestyle and budget in both model-year Ram 1500 pickups. However, when you reach the top-tier 2024 Limited, you get the finest luxury Ram has to offer. Leather seats, heated and ventilated seats, and more come standard.
If the 2024 Limited impressed you, the 2025 Tungsten trim will reset the bar. Premium leather seating, natural wood and carbon fiber trim, and a world-class audio system provide initial separation from 2024 models.
Tungsten models offer best-in-class 24-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats that heat, ventilate, and massage. You can customize your seats, including massage intensity, to find ideal comfort on every drive. And a memory function returns your seat to your favorite settings every time.
