Trim Levels of the Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 comes in two style configurations: the Quad Cab and the Crew Cab. The former comes with a 6-foot-4 long cargo bed, while the latter offers either a 6-foot-4 or 5-foot-7 bed. The Big Horn is quite similar to the base trim, but it offers several upgrades, including cloth upholstery, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and fog lamps. The main reason people choose this trim is because it has a slightly larger list of features. 

The Laramie trim adds dual-zone automatic climate control, a 420-horsepower inline-six engine, heated front and rear seats, leather upholstery, a nine-speaker sound system, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated, power-adjustable front seats. The Rebel trim is the ultimate off-road model, including most of the features of the Big Horn and adding all-terrain tires, a 12-inch touch screen, and underbody skid plates. 

The RHO trim is also built for off-roading, taking the Rebel trim to the next level by adding a sport-tuned exhaust, 35-inch off-road tires, a high-output 540-horsepower inline-six engine, aluminum paddle shifters, off-road suspension with shock absorbers, and an RHO-specific grille, hood, and bumpers. The Limited trim adds a few more upgrades, including 20-inch wheels, premium quilted leather upholstery, air suspension, and a 19-speaker sound system. 

The Limited Longhorn trim is available only in the Crew Cab configuration and offers premium LED headlamps, remote tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlamps, premium leather upholstery, real wood glove box door, ventilated front bucket seats, heated rear seats, and a premium instrument panel. Finally, the Tungsten trim offers a full-on luxury experience with a 23-speaker sound system, a tri-fold cargo bed cover, a digital rearview mirror, an advanced package of safety features, 22-inch wheels, a head-up display, and a 14.4-inch touch screen. 

Ram 1500 Engine Options

The Ram 1500 offers two engine options: a 3.6-liter V-6 with eTorque that produces 305 horsepower and a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder with either standard or high output that generates 420 or 540 horsepower. Both options are paired with a smooth eight-speed transmission, and depending on the trim you choose, all-wheel drive is optional or standard. 

The loss of the V-8 hasn't slowed the Ram 1500 down, as it's faster than ever with either engine configuration. The optional air suspension helps with fuel efficiency and off-road capability, while the rear suspension enhances the overall driving experience. The base engine with rear-wheel drive gets an EPA-estimated 23 mpg, while the four-wheel-drive version of the inline-six engine with the standard and high output get 19 and 17 mpg, respectively.
