New Jeep Wrangler 4xe for sale in Hanover, PA
Experience the Jeep Wrangler 4xe
Jeep is known for celebrating its heritage while looking to the future. When it introduced the Wrangler in 1987, it created a lighter, better-performing vehicle that paid homage to the styling of the 1940s Willys and CJ. In 2021, Jeep evolved again when it launched the first Wrangler 4xe, that offered everything people love about the Wrangler with a new eco-friendly hybrid powertrain.
The latest model has a fuel-saving electric range, which is ideal for affordable city driving, instant torque on the trails, and a quiet, smooth ride. Intrigued? Read on to get to know the Jeep Wrangler 4xe better.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe Trim Levels
Jeep has expanded its Wrangler 4xe range from four trims to six.
Sport S
The Sport S is Jeep's entry-level option. It's a well-appointed vehicle, with a larger touchscreen than many base models and Jeep's latest infotainment system as standard. If you want a Jeep Wrangler 4xe but aren't concerned with too many bells and whistles, the Sport S should satisfy.
Willys
Taking a step up to the Willys is a smart choice if you intend to spend some time off-road. For not a lot more money, you get several convenient additions including steel rock rails, trailer tow and aux switches, LED lighting, locking rear differential, and rugged 33-inch off-road tires that boost ground clearance. Willys decals and a black grille help set this trim apart.
Sahara
The Sahara's body-color fender flares and available body-color hardtop give it a coordinated look that many motorists love. Remote vehicle start, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel are new inclusions for this trim. New add-ons also become available at this level, including a Trailcam forward-facing camera and power front seats with premium McKinley trim.
Rubicon
The Rubicon includes the off-roading features seen on the Willys with a few new inclusions and options that make it a better choice for tackling more challenging terrain. You'll appreciate the standard heavy-duty full-float rear axle, which is more durable for towing and off-roading. For peace of mind when you're off-roading with friends, consider adding the WARN Winch with steel bumpers.
High Altitude
If you enjoy life's luxuries, the High Altitude is the natural choice. Jeep delivers a premium cabin package, with leather seats and 12-way power adjustments up front so you can find just the right position. Jeep also adds side steps for easy access and exits. The body-color bumpers, handles, and mirrors give the High Altitude a refined look.
Rubicon X
The Rubicon X combines the off-road credentials of the Rubicon with the luxury of the High Altitude. There are the leather seats and other premium cabin package features you'll love, along with that convenient TrailCam. Steel bumpers also become standard at this trim level.
Engine and Performance Options
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder motor paired with a 14-kWh battery. Together they produce 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. That makes the plug-in hybrid more powerful than its standard gas-powered sibling. You see the difference when comparing their acceleration side by side. During independent testing, the Wrangler 4xe Rubicon reached 60 mph from standing in just 5.2 seconds. That makes it nearly a full second quicker off the market than the gas-powered two-door Wrangler Sport and nearly two seconds quicker than the gas-powered four-door Wrangler Sahara.
You can drive the Wrangler 4xe using only electric power for an estimated 21 miles on a single charge, according to the EPA. It'll take 12 hours to fully recharge the battery with the standard Level 1 charger, but you can slash that to around two hours with the optional Level 2 charger.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe Safety Features
Jeep made the Wrangler 4xe with a crush-resistant high-strength steel safety frame for better accident protection. Side curtain air bags in the front and second row are also standard. Features like brake assist, traction control, and electronic stability help you take charge of your vehicle. You can increase your hybrid Wrangler's safety credentials with a range of optional features including automatic high-beam headlamps, forward collision warning with active braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, the ParkSense rear park assist system, and the ParkView rear back up camera.
Interior and Technology
The hybrid powertrain has a minimal impact on the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, with the driver and front passenger losing just four-tenths of an inch of legroom. With the rear seat down, this hybrid offers 67.4 cubic feet of cargo space, five cubic feet less than its gas-powered sibling. Front and rear cupholders and bins in the doors can help you stay organized. Removing the doors and retracting the optional soft top makes the cabin feel more open and spacious. The ergonomic seats feature easy-clean cloth upholstery in all but the two highest trims, which get buttery Nappa leather seating.
Jeep upgraded the Wrangler 4xe's touchscreen this year to a much larger high-definition 12.3-inch display. This impressive screen is the perfect showcase for the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Jeep includes free trials of some of its most popular subscription services as part of this system, including vehicle performance and safety and security packages. You can also wirelessly connect your mobile devices using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Onboard navigation and Trails Offroad, an app showing more than 2000 mapped off-road tracks, are optional extras on all trims but the High Altitude, which gets these programs included.
The Wrangler 4xe's front seats are ergonomically designed for great support on long trips. The rear seats are firm but recline slightly for a more comfortable drive. Climate control vents in the front and rear can help everyone stay cool while you're on the move.
